OfferScope · Monthly cash-flow calculator

Compare two job offers, beyond base salary

See year 1, year 2 and multi-year package value. Separate cash from vesting equity, then weigh PTO, commute and working conditions without turning them into a made-up dollar score.

Amounts are annual unless labeled otherwise. Zero means not counted. Enter the target bonus as a scenario, only employer-paid benefits, and only retirement amounts you expect to vest. No currency conversion.

How the calculation works

Cash each year = base salary + target annual bonus + signing bonus in year 1. Equity each year = the single grant value × that year's vesting percentage; nothing is assumed after the grant vests. Modeled total = cash + vesting equity + entered employer benefits + vested employer retirement contribution.

A vesting schedule such as 0,50,50 represents a year with no vesting followed by two 50% years. This is a year-end scenario, not a monthly payroll or tax model. Verify grant terms, liquidity and early departure/clawback conditions before relying on a comparison.

Original example: A has 120,000 base, 10,000 annual bonus, 20,000 signing cash and an 80,000 four-year grant. B has 130,000 base, 15,000 annual bonus and a 40,000 grant. Load the example to see why year 1 and later years can favor different offers. These are invented inputs for demonstration, not real user results or salary benchmarks.

Questions and limitations

Is total compensation the same as take-home pay?

No. This compares pre-tax cash, vesting equity and entered employer benefits. It does not estimate tax or employee deductions. Use the cash-flow calculator for a separate budget scenario.

What happens after the equity grant finishes vesting?

No more equity is counted for that grant. The model does not assume annual refresher grants or stock price growth.

How do PTO and remote work affect the total?

They are displayed separately. PTO and commute time are not assigned dollar values or used in a hidden overall score.

Are my offers sent to a server?

This comparison calculates in your browser. Save stores a private comparison locally; download includes financial inputs and notes. The site can load its existing analytics, but this tool does not send entered compensation to a calculation API.
